What is Preeti doing now?

[For context, this is a Now Page and is inspired by nownownow.com and Simon Cox]

We’re already halfway through 2026, and it is so wild to say that out loud. Between these 5 months, a lot has happened, especially in the last two months.

Heat. Heat was one of them. Can you imagine living in temperatures above 42 degrees celcius? The most I have experienced this summer was 44 degrees, I believe. Summer is at its peak here lol.

As I write this, I am preparing all the documents for my trip to South Korea in September, and oh my god, there are so many.

*cries in weak passport*

Speaking of travel, I will attend the Google I/O Connect for the third year in a row in Bengaluru (thank you so much, John Mueller, for the opportunity!). This time, though, I’ll be there for like 20 days. I really liked being in Bangalore, and the city has so much fun stuff to offer. For example, I will watch a live theater show for the first time.

I also made a bunch of video content, but I am still intimidated by LinkedIn. Hopefully, that changes soon.

What am I doing these days?

I watched The Devil Wears Prada 2 in theaters, and let’s just say I am glad they didn’t ruin the iconic movie’s sequel. To be fair, I watched the first movie only days ago before watching the second, so I don’t get the hype about it. Oh, and had some amazing food before watching the movie, which included authentic Italian pasta and sushi. I tried the veg version of California roll, and I don’t know how authentic it was, but I quite liked it for my first time.

Pizza Margherita
Margherita pizza. I liked this one a lot better, but I didn’t order it. My sister did. I still managed to exchange a slice with her lol. Easily a 9 out of 10.
Funghi Pizza
Funghi Pizza. I ordered this one cause this stood out to me on the menu. But sadly, I didn’t like it very much. I would rate it 6 out of 10. I turned it into a 7 because they had this olive oil with garlic in it, and the flavor was so amazing.

I also bought my very first vehicle- a moped. It is so cute, and I named it Cookie. It’s been a few years since I rode a two-wheeler, and I was a bit scared at first, but with practice, I can say I am doing well now.

Cookie is so cute and small. But whenever I crank it up on high speeds, it starts to wobble. So, probably should use it for normal stuff, like running errands. Also, I can’t ride in traffic yet.

I am also helping my dad with gardening, which is something that has excited me since I was a kid. We planted seeds for okra, coriander, spinach, and Indian beans (to be honest, I don’t like these beans lol). It is just so cool to go to our little farm every evening, and water my mango tree and the little seeds that we grew together. I can’t wait for them to grow.

Watering the plants is my absolute favorite thing to do. It takes away my stress and makes me think about how trees survive in 44-degree heat without moving. They have a tough life, not gonna lie.

The other thing that I am doing is exercising and taking care of my health. I have been doing it since October 2025, but got serious in January 2026. I also started doing intermittent fasting in March 2026, and I have been seeing good results. Like, I lost like 8 kilos since Oct 2025, which is huge for me. I haven’t reached my goal weight yet, but I love seeing this progress.

When it comes to work, I have made a few short videos by now. Other than that, I filed taxes (without melting lol), and now I am planning to prepare all my documents to attend the Search Seoul conference in South Korea. I’ll probably write a blog about it on this site explaining how I planned for the visa, and all the behind-the-scenes stuff.

Manifesting a good time there ✨

P.S. I have one empty spot for a SaaS client. If you want help understanding why users are dropping off during onboarding, are not realizing the full value of your product, or are not staying for longer, hit me up on LinkedIn or schedule a 30-minute call.

What kind of content am I watching/reading?

I have started reading books again. It is nice to take a break from screens cause I feel like my attention span is getting funny. I have already finished Zero to One by Peter Thiel, and now I am reading Influence by Robert Cialdini, and The Art of Living by  Howard C. Cutler and His Holiness the Dalai Lama. I am reading both of them at the same time, and it is such a nice mix of perspectives, and I am rediscovering my love for reading.

It is funny because I tried to read on the Kindle app and even purchased a 2-month Kindle subscription at the start of this year. But then I realized that reading on the Kindle is too distracting, because I am reading on the phone… which is what I am trying to avoid. lol.

I am also making an effort to listen to more podcasts cause they’re just so nice sometimes. Hidden Brain by Shankar Vedantam and Two Bobs by David C. Baker and Blair Enns come to mind. I might have listened to other podcasts here and there, but for now, I am a fan of these.

My YouTube feed, though, is full of F1 content. I am enjoying watching the race highlights and other channels that do commentary and meme stuff. Threads is gold for F1 memes, though. It is definitely fun to see races with the new regulations and new cars. Seeing Max Verstappen not win any races makes me a bit sad. I got some hope after the Canadian GP, when Max finished third.

Anything else that’s happening/ final thoughts

This is a great year so far. Of course, I had my tough days. I felt a lot of imposter syndrome and had difficult times in my personal life, but now I have so many things to look forward to. I am choosing to look at the bright side, and I look forward to all the new adventures this year.
