I am in Vietnam! It’s my very first solo international trip (that too on a one-way ticket). It’s been 15 ish days since I have been here, and I still haven’t got my return flight tickets lol. I reflected back on this year and it was truly the best year of my life. It was full of love, adventures, and a lot of emotions. I have this ritual thing where I fill out a Google form that has a bunch of questions at the end of each year. After filling out this form, I see the responses from last year, and it’s always cool to look back and realize how far I have come.
I am in Da Nang, and the weather here is sort of rainy. I didn’t get to travel here much, but I did go to Ba Na Hills, and I think it was a cool experience.
I have a bunch of places saved that I want to go, but the rain is being a little annoying. And I sort of miss Indian food, especially Chai.
What am I doing these days?
Apart from being in a different country, I am doing work. The regular old client works. Also, I finally made a post on my website, Packted which was summarizing the Crawling December series by Google in a podcast format.
Oh, and trying new food and learning about the Vietnamese culture. So far I tried things like Pho and various other kinds of noodles. I liked some, and I didn’t like others. I will hopefully make a whole post about my trip to Vietnam. I also tried the Vietnamese coffee, and also the salted one (I actually tried it today).
I made a few test videos using the vertical video setup I got recently. I was trying to test what kind of videos I wanted to make. I never uploaded them, they were just for me to see lol. I hope to make actual videos soon though.
I am also thinking. A lot. Thinking about the big questions about my life. I guess it’s time to introspect and be aligned with my inner self. It’s not easy, but I have to do it.
I also got a little clarity on my offering. I talked with a bunch of cool people about market research. This made me realize that I should be helping SEO SaaS companies with onboarding, activation, and retention. So if that interests you, feel free to contact me on LinkedIn or book a call.
What kind of content I am watching/reading?
I am reading a lot of content related to Product-led growth. I am also listening to a lot of podcasts that cover things like business, PLG, SEO, and other stuff.
I also started reading the Product-Led Growth book by Wes Bush, and I am loving it so far. I just hope that I get to complete it lol. I have a track record of starting books and not finishing them.
Apart from this, I just watch the regular food videos, and a ton of other videos on YouTube.
Anything else that’s happening/ final thoughts
It’s not really something that’s happening right now, but I would like to speak to more strangers. I did met two awesome people on my trip so far, and they were so nice. The locals here are nice too. They are warm and friendly. Language is a big problem though.
Oh, and although I don’t celebrate Christmas, this year I kind of did because my friend is also in Vietnam and we had good food and exchanged gifts. The whole city was really decorated with Christmas stuff and I LOVED it. It made me so happy.
The new year is here, and I hope it to be a great year for everyone.
